Suntou,

Indeed, the legal profession have been known to be instrumental in many
political dispensations in effecting changes where tyranny and despotism
exist. Many legal personlities are known to have lead revolutions and many
resistance movements have had people with legal backgrounds in the lead.
Indeed Madiba and others are good examples.

Yet real changes is ushered in by the ordinary people who at the critical
moment realise how powerful they are. I am in support of the initiative of
what is going at the moment resulting from the meetings that have taken
place in the USA/UK and the upcoming Stockholm one. The ongoing
consultation being carried out to sound out willing and competent Gambians
is great and necessary. However, i am irked by the arrogance of people
who are trying to disrupt this consultation by arrogating themselves and
their 'kabudus' the 'intellect, connection, vision, committment and
know-how' in leading the fight against Jammeh. I still cannot imagine what
possessed some folk when i read somewhere someone beating their chest that
'they have the nagging feeling that if they do not lead these Steering
Committees it won't work'.

There is nothing enigmatic in how to get rid of Jammeh and his sick
buddies. Egypt and all these places you are talking about, the dictators
were gotten rid of by the ordinary folk especially the youth. In Senegal,
it was ordinary people and youths such as *Y'EN MARRE not pretencious
deluded *'elitist'* * that forced Wade out. The Gambian revolution will
happen with the help and leadership of the ordinary folk on the ground
coupled with the support of the genuine and the humble amongst the
diaspora, not the arrogant and elitist deluded so-called super-connected
'pseudo-intellectuals'.
