Hey Dramane. Keep this conversation at Posten. We will trust your opinions on
he matter. Don't humbug us. I have an idea for you:

Go to www.whitehouse.gov and share the video where President Atlas Obama
ducated us on the matter of religious freedom. That's what you should share
ith us here. We don't wanna hear idiots argue over this. It is clear-cut. Keep
our opinions to yourselves. And certainly keep them at Posten. Ellen has other
ork to do. Don't piss me off. And I want you specifically to donate to the Pa
usman Bojang Legal Relief fund we have going on here at Ellen. And then go
way.

Haruna. I don't wanna hear your mouth again. Just forward us Obama's video on
he Manhattan Mosque affair and watch us appreciate you.

Yahya Jallow,

I disagree with some of your comments. It would have matter as to whether a
ynagogue or a church was build in ground zero. Those that carried out 11th
eptember have their own reasons and that should not be a reason for Muslims to
xercise their right of freedom to a religion of their choice.

I support President Obama for his support of the American Muslims to exercise
heir fundamental human right.

Hi Mawdo Demba,

I am the least versed but will attempt to answer in a normal life situation
riven by common sense. The 9/11 must be condemned in no little terms. It was
arce, deadly and an uncalled for aggression against innocent people all over,
ot only Americans, but all the victims and their families who happens to be
rom different Geographical backgrounds, including the one Gambian that died
uring the 9/11 blast.

Who is going to claim victory?

Accidentally those that masked in the uniform of Islam (Muhammad Atta, the
astermind and his associates) may, but true Muslims beg to differ.

The Unhealed Wound

The ground zero spot remains an unhealed wound for the American people, and it
s a very sensitive spot. For Muslims to build a mosque there, it is like a
rovocation to the American people, at least the way that many will perceive it.
hope those trying to build a mosque there are not loaded with such motives of
rovocation. I have no reason to believe so either.

The holy ‘Kaaba’ in Mecca is situated at the former idol-worshipping place for
he Meccans. Though, there is no relation to the Kaaba and the ground zero, it
s just to say, there is no problem having a mosque at the former ground zero.
t must not be sabotage from extremists who try to score points for the sake of
ore chaos for a decent world.

On the other hand, I can understand why America would say no. The spot remains
n unhealed wound, though a mosque there sounds great for refreshment, a
eplacement of good over evil if the intentions are pure.

Baldeh & fasting….hmm, they sneak in the room to regurgitate bread or bone
rumb on the table, or yet still a window curtain pulled down to darken the room
or a meal at mid-day. I tell you the Baldehs are just that….ha ha ha…Happy
asting Mawdo Demba!

Hi all,

Recently we may all have heard about the proposal to build a Mosque near ground
ero - the old site of World Trade Buildings in New York. The debate has been
ery extensive and it has revealed some deep divisions on religious freedom that
merica has always championed. Both sides of the issue have advanced their case
nd it gets heated to an uncomfortable level.

So I was curious as to what the Majority of the list members think about the
dea of building the most at this sensitive site? What do you think are the down
ides of building the Mosque and would it backfire on Muslims and put more
crutiny on the owners and people who will worship there?

What historic parallels if any can we draw from this controversy? Do majority
uslims on this list support building the mosque? Does it vindicate the alleged
ttackers of 911? Would the mosque be used as a slap in the face of American
ociety which is seen to be far more tolerance?

Is there any reference to the Hadis, Quran or Bible predicting such controversy
n our life time?

I would like to hear from other more experience or religiously educated on
his...

Ramadan mubarak to all Muslim brothers and sisters and to our christian friends
n the list.

Thanks

Demba
