Humor aside, thanks again for putting Michael in that beautiful way for us. Though I have never met the guy, but greatly followed his contributions to Gambia's sphere, makes him truly a Gambian by action. I think he should be commended and encouraged to continue his humanitarian gestures. He man is simply a gem! Please extend my regards to him.
On regards to Dr. Amadou S. Janneh, I wasn't here at the Gambia-L/post when he interacted here. Personally, I don't believe in skinning people at times that they are in trouble. What many fail to understand is that the guy was up to something -coalition for change. While I appreciate references to the mighty archives over what bitterness and history transpired before, I have personally decided this urgent situation requires an evaluation over the true course of action. It seems that effort, 'Coalition for change' is getting little acknowledgement among contributors, except the few that volunteered to sign for his release in that petition. Call it a pet project, if you would my dear friends, but again at least some effort. I think we should all stand in solidarity with him at this hour.
Now if the only reason that some are holding hands on him is because of him joining the APRC, I wonder how many of our people must we shun then, and I mean for ever. But looking at things from Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) wisdom, he welcomed to himself even people who attempted on his life. I guess that makes the difference between God’s law and man-made law and opinions. Opinions are full of biases. Just to emphasize, I don’t like that he joined the APRC, but I like he is a part of refreshing coalition. Omar (RA) is one great man, who at one time was on the verge of going to finish the prophet, but later as it is known in history, turned to be among the best protectors of the Prophet, Islam, and even the Muslim nation.
I think I stopped thinking if I was wrong or right when I came across this part from Malik Kah (UK), and I openly want to associate myself with it.
