The officials at The Government of The Gambia circulate memos in turns to their subordinates to attend a work day in one of Yahya's numerous farms across the country. The questions:
1) Does Yahya sanctioned civil servants leave their tax payer job to work at his private ventures?
2) Or are the senior officials acting in fear to redirect public servants to Yahya's fields at the expense of Gambian tax payer?
Either way, Yahya has created such mediocre environment. Or should I say such mediocre has pre-dates Yahya?
Wonder how our forefathers that secure our independence from colonials feel? Rolling in their graves? I don't no! Were they forced into free labor for the queen. Or should we equate this with sending our fathers/uncles to training camps in Gold Coast for fighting to defeat Hitler. The contexts are different but nonetheless many left against their desires/consciences.
Simply complaining about the numerous wrongs of Yahya and his cohorts are no solutions. We can solve these problems. We've a very big opportunity - The Opposition Parties Proposals & Demands for Elections/Constitutional Reforms. This should just be a start of a holistic Democratic Agenda. What say you?
The potentials exist to move this to the next step. Simply turning-in a document to a tyrannt will not cut it. Let us engage, facilitate, motivate this group to push forward. For these to work they/we have to have adequate infrastructure and resources. Both are necessary to build the needed political leverage that enhance our capacities to launch a final push on Banjul.
Please join us in this advocacy...............
