Could officers be train to knocked off legs to ground charging
suspect first?

That in some instances may not give officer(s) the self preservation of
their lives they are naturally entitled to but at least in some cases could
slow down events to be able to humanly assess whether the charge has
deathly weapon or not.

It might have been more complicated than this on that fatal day - I don't
know. Others cases maybe even be more complicated - but to reduced killing
over suspected robbery can be helpful to all. Robbery can't be humanly
condemned by death if both measured their response at an encounter with law
enforcement.

Now we are were we are - give the system chance to work.
