*Phishing Isn’t Just For Fun* **

Criminals don’t take the time to create fake emails and send them to you
just for the fun of it. Criminals plan on you falling for the scam. When
you do, the criminals reap the rewards, and you are left with some
not-so-fun consequences.* *


*Falling for a Phish is Not-so-Fun*

* *

1.     *Your identity could be stolen*. Your credit card could be maxed
out. Your credit could be ruined. Imagine the time, effort, money, and
emotional stress that go along with dealing with a stolen identity. *Not fun
**.*

2.     *Your computer could be infected with a virus*. You could lose all
the data on your computer. You could be without your computer for a few
days. The virus could spread to all the computers on the network resulting
in downtime and negatively impacting patient care. *Not fun.*

3.     *You could cause someone else’s identity to be stolen.* Clients,
employees, or your friends and family could all have their identities
stolen if you fall for a phishing scam. *Not fun for anyone.*



*Have Some Fun of Your Own*

If you know how to catch a PHISH, then chances are you won’t fall for the
scam. The joke will then be on the criminals! Share this phishing
information with your co-workers, family, and friends. Your knowledge could
take all the fun out of phishing for criminals.
