Dear Friends,
 
It is with a sense of profound humility that I inform you all that by the Grace of God, I have just graduated with a PhD in History (Africa) from the University of California, Davis. While it is impossible to list everyone, I thank all who, in various ways, have been so kind and helpful over the past several years. I am especially grateful to my big brothers and mentors Professors Abdoulaye Saine, Sulayman Nyang, and Mbye Cham. My heartfelt gratitude also goes to my good friend and personal Jola Joe Sambou, Pa Samba Jow (Coach), Alikali Dibba, LJ Darbo, Njok Malik (UK), Lamin NB Daffeh, Abdulai Jobe, Malik Kah, Gheran Senghore, Alieu Badara Sowe, Adoukarim Sanneh, all our good brothers and sisters at Gamwriters (Cherno Omar Barry and Co.), STGDP (Father Mose, Banka, Sigga and Co.), Maafanta (FJM & Co.), Freedom (Pa Nderry and Co.), Gainako (Demba, Yero and Co.), Jollof News, and all our great colleagues of the GPU (USA, Gambia, and UK). I appreciate the various ways in which you all have been so kind and helpful over the past five years. 
 
I also wish to take this opportunity to thank our great list managers - past and present - of the Gambia Post and Gambia L for making it possible for all of us to interact as we have over the past several years. 
 
To all who have rendered their kind support and encouragement over the years, I say thank you. May God repay your kindness.
