My program on www.kibaaro.com radio gave some reason as to why so many
Gambians continue to sit on the fence in the face of maximum lawlessness.
Also, how I remembered the announcement of the military takeover, the
initial support we had for the coup, the PPP good start, where they stall,
how upcountry men marry in the the Inner town and city of Banjul, creating
a golf of distant between themselves and their parents, extended
family...how the system breaks down, and why the initial support for Jammeh
went away.
The new Jammeh language, borrowing from other dictators..utilising
structural architecture for propaganda in silencing criticism of all sorts.
Structural developments are use to masked the serious abuse on Gambians and
non-Gambians..The rationals behind the support he gets..Justified or not,
some prefer his madness to 'people, individuals, groups' to stopping him.
My personal take and what happen next...
With the hymn singer Landing Kintehba at the end. Who are the Jammeh's
developments for? If they are for Gambians, wouldn't it be better to start
by abiding by the democratic norms he use in retaining power?
