INSIDE GAMBIA
The Youngest Publisher in the World from the Gambia
*Wednesday 6th** June** 2007*

Modou Lamin Jatta, 26, very dynamic, astute, strategic and greatly
innovative has set a record for all youths all over the world, especially
Africa and The Gambia in particular. Mr. Jatta's breakthrough into media at
the young age of 26 amounts to a wonder of the 21st Century. Jatta is the
Publisher of Banjul Weekend, a stunning entertainment magazine that
stormed the Gambian media scene early this week.

The rare star shinning in The Gambia attended Niumi Primary School from
where he proceeded to Greater Banjul Junior Secondary School and then to
Nusrat Senior Secondary School.

Modou Lamin Jatta did a Diploma course in Information Technology
specializing in graphic and web-page designing. He later served with the DBC
Quality Designs as a Graphic Designer and eventually founded Superior Print,
a printing and publishing firm where is currently the Chief Executive
Officer. To fulfill a life long dream in publishing and journalism, Jatta
vissioned a rare area in the Gambia media scene – socio-journalism with
particular focus on entertainment and education. He conceived this concept
based on the gap for long left behind by the current journalism
practitioners in the country.

Furthermore Mr Jatta prepared himself to throw a new light in journalism in
the country as it affects the quality of printing and packaging of his
magazine. He went on to internationalize his journal by extending his market
frontiers outside The Gambia and Africa. Currently, Banjul Weekend Magazine
has most of its correspondents /writers as well as distribution network in
the United States, United Kingdom, Nigeria, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Ghana and
South Africa.

According to him, his new organization is geared towards joining hands with
the administration of President Jammeh in transforming the socio-economic
system of the Gambia in line with vision 2020 agenda.

Mr Jatta pledges to create employment opportunities for Gambia youths and
opportunities for their aspirations in the world of entrepreneurship.

The record of Modou Lamin Jatta is equal in magnitude with the whiz-kids of
the American Ford Motors that turned around the automobile industry in the
United States. He is thus disposed to turn around the Gambian media world by
bringing in the societal touch-points in his Banjul Weekend magazine. His
maiden publication is stunning! It touches the entire section of the Gambian
socio-polity and life in general.

Banjul Weekend Magazine has received the blessings of all and sundry in the
Gambian society.

The pace set by Modou Lamin Jatta for the youths of the Gambia is quite a
challenging one and thus calls on Gambian youths to sit-up and be positive,
optimistic and forward –looking . He believes that everybody is talented and
all should thus strive to look inwards, 'by using what you have to get what
you want'!

Jatta has carved a niche for himself in the world media setting and in due
course the Guiness Book of records will record his name , which is presently
comparable with that of Bill Gates , the Microsoft genius of the 21st
century.
