Gambian Imams and Scholars Delivered Lectures at the IAC Norway GamoShareGambian Imams and Islamic Scholars in Scandinavia gathered on Saturday, 18th of October 2014 to attend a Gamo/Seminar organized by The Inter African Committee in Norway, IAC Norway, a charity based in Norway that has a vision to unlock the potential of minority women and Children. The seminar was based on the project: Imams, Men and Youths as Agents of Change and was sponsored by IMDI, the Integration Department of the Norwegian government. The Imams and the scholars who grace the event were: Imam Seedy Ali Janneh, the Imam of Goteborg in Sweden, Oustaza Gas Lowe Njie a female scholar based in Denmark, Imam Ebrahim Saidy of the Darusalam Mosque in Norway and Imam Ebrahim Touray of the Islamic Solidary Mosque Oslo, Norway.The Gamo which was well attended by over 100 people from all walk of lives, different nationalities and different religion and took place at the P-Hotels in Oslo. The program of the Gamo also included presentations by the Boys and the Girls Group of the IAC Norway, amidst cheering from the crowd.It was opened by remarks from Fatou Dampha, an adviser, board member as well as a coordinator of the cultural group of IAC Norway. The various topics covered by the learned imams and scholars ranged from early and forced marriages, the rights of women in Islam, prevention of extremism, the right of the child in Islam and prevention of female genital mutilation.Read MoreComment (0)Hits: 5
