You really speak for me. I prevail on folks to stop peddling all the nonsense prevailing on the forum. Gambian should be aware that the cancer around us is tribal politic. Are we really honest about ending Jammeh's madness? What do you people gain following Halifa or Darboe like cult? Any debate base on these individuals at home front each doing their little how ever shortfall it may look in the eyes of some of us is a challenge to end the continuum of madness prevailing in our country.

If you really believe that there is a need for a united opposition as a strategy, rehashing the same old fights among us have not help and will not help. All of us would like to focus on who the real enemy is, and really you have been a nuisance by putting fuel into the fire. For God sake, if you do not have anything constructive to say as it pertains to the opposition in the Gambia strategically in search for a common ground, do not continue on this road of pitching partisans against each other. There will be a time and place for honest debate between parties and battle over ideas. The reality is that we are yet to build that environment in the Gambia. You have cited Obama and Hillary in your write up, and at some point if you remember the partisans of these groups knew when it was politically wise to not only join forces but say the right things that helped in their defeating of the opposition. I am really picking on you because you have been very notorious in joining these silly feuds, and for the life of me I cannot see what your angle is. What you guys are doing only helps Jammeh, and it is sad we continue to continue engaging in this same madness.

Uh, no Musa, the attention I'm getting is only because people respond to me, and I respond not because I want attention but because I have something to say, not because I want attention. I'm only as much of a threat to a united opposition as people make me out to be. And I really believe that you've given me way too much credit, when all I did was call things as I saw them. I think there were other well-known, and well-documented factors that I won't rehash here, that led to the demise of a united opposition, and not what some miniscule person said on an email list somewhere. However, if it makes you feel better to put the demise of the project to unite the opposition on the shoulders of one insignificant person, go right ahead.

I'll remember this the next time you and others talk about how much you value free speech, which obviously you don't, unless of course, it agrees with what you already believe.

I may not agree with many on here, but I'm not going to tell them to shut up, I'm not going to blame them for something failing that they had no part in the failure of, and I'm not going to try to insult them.

And if you don't like my messages, do like I do, if I see the post of someone that I don't want to read, I use the delete button, liberally at times. Believe me, it can definitely reduce your stress level.

And people say it's only women that get all emotional and bent out of shape over the smallest of things.

I can honestly say that though Jabou and I disagree, vehemently, it seems, she didn't tell me to shut up, she didn't tell me to "go back and tell this to the hibbies in Clarksville", etc. And I have to respect that, that it was the woman who disagreed with me with maturity, and tactfulness, and I could only wish that more of the men followed that lead instead of taking snipes like little boys on the playground would do.

I could see Jabou and I disagreeing over a cup of tea, coffee, etc., and I'd imagine that even though we might not agree, we'd probably come to a common understanding, and it might also be possible that I might learn a thing or two, that we might find that we agree on more than we disagree.

I responded to Jabou because I respect her and I felt that her message deserved a response, and I don't think we're going to agree on this issue, so I think it's better to just leave it alone. Lest it create enmity and anger between people unnecessarily. Again, I reiterate that we're losing sight of the real goal, as I understand it, in the bickering back and forth.

At any rate, the thought that I could single-handedly cause the united opposition to fail is just, well, laughable. And it's hyperbole in its truest form.

Ginny
