Friends,

I am pleased that West Bank Faatah president Mahmood Abbas is reaching out to Hamas, their estrangement notwithstanding. Mr. Abbas has recognised that under duress, Hamas may not be able to reach out to Faatah as readily as Faatah can to Hamas. Therefore I applaud Abbas' recognition for value. This will do more to persuade Israel to cease the inordinate bombing of Gazans than the closure of the Gaza-Misira border.

I encourage Hosni Mubarak and the Egyptian people to relax the cordon at that border in order to facilitate humanitarian aid and secours.

You made a good point about both parties uniting  around the bargaining table. It's too sad to see such a rift between people who have fought so long to get their land. May Almighty Allah bless them with peace.
