Thanks that Assad is willing to do so and I hope all the others will follow this great example.more so USA, Israel and Russia. As the US strike on Syria appears imminent in the last week or so, things are becoming more dramatic as the world watch with skepticism of another war... Did the rumors of imminent US attack threatened Asad enough for him to yield?

Because he had the sympathy of some of us.
Did he learn a lesson from the Wars of Iraq, Libya etc?

I think the world is watching an interesting history unfolding... While Obama is clearly reluctant to take the US to another war, the war mongers are at it again and journalists are having a field day again...

It is past time for Asad to realize that he can only buy time for a while but th at nothing can safe him except respect for the rights of his people, allow a more democratic process etc...
