Thanks Ebrima

Just wondering if you plan  a kindle version of this book. Much easier for people on the move. I purchased the kindle version of all three of the Gambian books released immediately before yours.

As kindle versions are cheaper, you are likely to reach many more people this way

Dear All,

Professor Abdoulaye Saine, Dr Ebrima Sall and I are pleased to inform you that
the Gambia volume/book we have edited - can now be pre-ordered via this
website:

http://www.africaworldpressbooks.com/servlet/Detail?no=1006

The book cover is also attached for your information. State and Society in The Gambia Since Independence: 1965 – 2012 is ground
breaking and a massive volume for that matter (686 pages). Its exact
publication date will be announced here online, as soon as it is confirmed by
the publisher, but the tentative date is December 2012. The book has 15
chapters, excluding an excellent Foreword and a brilliant Postscript by
Professors Lamin Sanneh and Sulayman Nyang respectively. It is published by the
New Jersey based Africa World Press and features a wide-ranging selection of
the works of established and promising scholars of Gambian studies. A second
volume is also now underway.

It
is hoped that this first volume will make a significant contribution towards
consolidating intellectual interest in, and international policy engagement with,
The Gambia. This study is not only an essential read for those whose research
focuses explicitly on Gambia, but is also useful for those who research other
countries and are seeking useful comparative material. Finally, it is envisaged
that the range of issues examined in this volume will serve as a starting-point
for the development of a new research agenda for Gambian Studies that can be
taken forward both by the contributors to this volume and by other scholars.

Regards,
Ebrima (for theeditors)
