In this special edition, by the exquisite Ndey Cissoko,

1- HE Mahmoud Ahmedinijad, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran conducts a comprehensive working visit of Mali. He visited Timboctou and the Islamic University there where he was accorded an honorary doctorate degree with the ceremonial turban. Timboctou, the land of 333 Saints. You gotta see this one. Check out the Camel Corps of Timboctou. Ahmadinijad and his host ATT also viewed the manuscripts of the Ahmadu Baba Restoration Center. The two leaders were later serenaded by Toumani Diabate's Kora Duet over dinner. They exchanged symbolic gifts. ATT accepts Ahmadinijad's invitation to visit Iran.

2. Mali teachers and professors meet with President ATT. They inform the President that they have resolved to terminate their strike and to return to the classroom. This brings to an end, a most unfortunate loss of 21/2 months of no-education for Mali's most promising generation. Please not at this time of Mali's evolution. The stars have aligned for Mali. And that will be good for all Malians and West Africans. The sacrifices we make will be recognized but sacrifice we must. Instead of Kaviar, I'll do with Neni-Ngunja.

3. Mali, with the help of China, constructs a biogas production landfill. Beautiful.

4. Mali begins a campaign to eradicate Guinea worm from the North Mali communities. Guinea worm comes from drinking unsanitary water. Where water is scarce, people do not have the luxury of potable water. Timboctou, Gao, Kidal.

5. The 2010-11 Agricultural season is launched by Mali's Office Du Niger in Molodo/Segou.
And much much more. Wonderful things are happening to Mali and La-Guinea.

6. Caster Semenya, The South African Athletic phenom whose sex has been a matter of inquest by the world athletic authority has been cleared to compete as a woman. This brings joy and relief to the super-athlete's family, friends, and all South Africans. Watch her leave the competition in the dust.

7. Orange Telecommunications Company explores expansion opportunities in Mali.

And much much more.
