Fatou,

Am with you shoulder to shoulder and thanks for stepping in at this crucial
time of our union. The sole responsibility and survival of this union
remains that of every fair minded member of the Gambian media past or
present. This is the time our strength and respect for what we are fighting
for will be tested. Leadership is about flexibility and the ability to
withstand strong genuine or not criticism from folks.

Once again, collectively we are being tested and time will tell if infact
what we openly oppose against the Jammeh regime is something we are willing
to do away with. It is one thing to criticize and another thing to come up
with a solution to the existing problem that is being discussed.

If anyone is genuinely interested in the progress of the GPU, lets hear what
they are willing to bring to the table. If at the end of the week no one is
willing to come up with concrete steps to restructure what is seen as the
defects of the union, then we will know once again the calls are just what
they are - *an effort to distract without good intentions.*

I particularly call on the leaders of the online media; Ebrima Sankareh, Pa
Nderry, Yero Jallow, Buba Ceesay, Yankuba Jambang, the Gambiajournal, Gpost,
the Gambia-L and Mathew Jallow just to mention a few, to come up with
suggestions to foster our union. This can be done in any form folks so
desires.

The eyes of our enemies and the world are on us. Our fans and contributors
are watching us to see how we resolve this problem going forward. I am still
optimistic that something positive will come out of this dialogue.

With Respect..

Demba
