Dear Sheik Tijan Nyang:
Early on Wednesday morning, at about 2:15 a.m.(EST), I listened to a BBC
interview with you about tourism in Gambia. I was very impressed with
your answers and the many concerns you raised about some of the negative
effects of tourism on the people, economy, environment etc. I found the
discussion very informative. Did you say that package tours would end as
of October,1999? Can you possibly say more about this and other issues
regarding tourism in Gambia? I am sorry to ask again if you already did
on the L.

Your interview interested me because I happen to be doing an article on
"The Effects of British Imposed Sanctions on Gambia's Tourist Industry."
And the views you expressed could help broaden the scope of the article.
Could you possibly send me information/data on Gambia's tourist
industry? Maybe, we could collaborate on this article?

Also, if anyone has references on the tourist industry in Gambia, (I
have a few), please send them to me. Thanks.

Abdoulaye
