Ansumana Jammeh is Gambia's new ambassador to QatarThursday, February 25, 2010
Ansumana Jammeh, the executive director of Jammeh Foundation for Peace has been appointed as the new Gambia ambassador to the Gulf emirate of Qatar.
Speaking to Daily Observer yesterday Jammeh confirmed his new appointment and added that it came to him as a surprise. He then thanked President Jammeh for the appointment and assured that he will live up to expectation and justify the trust and confidence reposed on him by the leadership. He stated his intention to also serve as ambassador of the Jammeh Foundation for Peace in Qatar in order to further uplift the status of the Foundation and give it more international clout. He then used the opportunity to commend the staff of the Jammeh Foundation for Peace for their hard work and commitment during his tenure. In a related development, Momodou Njie alias Dore, former permanent secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also been appointed as chief of Mission at the Gambian Embassy in Qatar.
