Hi,

We use Trader Joe's chocolate chips - they say parve. Not sure if they say processed on equipment that could be shared w/dairy - but our son never had a problem with that.

Also, you mentioned that you bought a milk free cookbook and we did same many years ago when my son was found to be alergic to all dairy. But I was disappointed in that some of our favorite recipes for desserts were just not the same. So I tried substituting margarine for butter and soy milk (Plain, not flavored) for milk. Use the exact same quantities the recipe calls for. It works great. Make all the things your daughter loves (cakes, pies, cookies, etc.) There are very few recipes where you can tell the difference. Even cream cheese frosting on carrot cake can be very similar. We use Toffutti brand 'cream cheese' and 'sour cream'. They have a very similar consistency and taste.

Regards, Rob Dudewicz

Thanks for all of the responses. It really helps. My 17th month old was
just diagnosed with her milk allergy about 4 months ago, so I am new to
this. I get frustrated when I go to the store and can't find anything that
she can eat, and I feel like I feed her the same things day after day.
