We have a petrified wood forest near here that seems to do the job of lasting. Also, in the Nass River Valley of northern BC is a lava flow from 250 years ago that has beautiful tree moulds. You could always pour a new tree in those any time. There for sniffing, all you get is fresh clean mountain air.

Heard of it. Never sniffed it. Just the most recent in a long line of bread slices?

Anybody here ever heard of, or better yet had any experience with, acetylated lumber? I just took an AIA Continuing Education course (i.e., extended advertisement) about it, and it sounds like the best thing since sliced bread. Especially when used to build things outdoors.
