Despite everything, it is my opinion that President Barrow use invoke Section 82 subsection 2 and completely expunge the conviction of Darboe.
I am his greatest critic but I do not think he deserves to carry a criminal record on his head.
I will be among those who will accuse Barrow of having ulterior motives if he is still unwilling to eliminate the doubt surrounding the appointment of Ous Darboe as VP.
Whiles at times we may ridicule our political opponents, our behaviour must not be machinated by hate.
I am oppose to Ous Darboe on the basis of political ideology and policies but I do not hate him.
Our constitution did not define a public officer without ambiguity. The judgement from the Supreme Court also did not wipe away the conviction of Ous Darboe. In consequence the questions as to whether he is constitutionally qualified to be in the cabinet.
Recent article by Lawyer Dr Henry Carol stated that in the worst case scenario, Barrow could put all this to bed.
My question is, why is Barrow hesitant on this free advice given by Dr Carol? Only time will tell.
There are so many things that we can accuse Ous Darboe of but to say that he has criminal characteristics is just grossly unfair.
I will never ever join the UDP with or without Darboe but I will never support injustice against any person.
By way of clarification, I am neither questioning the laws of the country nor the professional judgement of our honourable judges but I am just citing the extenuating circumstances that led Darboe to break the law.
There will be people who will be completely aghast as to why I am campaigning for Ous Darboe's criminal record to be expunged given that I am still one of his greatest critics. The answer is simple.
We all voted for a new Gambia. A Gambia where Adama Barrow, despite being advised by Darboe to renege on his promise, fulfills that promise made to the Gambian people. A Gambia where political opponents will not see each other as enemies. A Gambia where there is a new level playing field where the opportunities are equal for all. A  new Gambia free from revenge. A new Gambia of forgiveness. anew Gambia of truth. a new Gambia of fiscal discipline. A new Gambia of good laws replacing the very oppressive laws that put us all in chains. A new Gambia of separation of powers. A new Gambia of hope and prosperity. A new Gambia of liberty and dignity. This is the Gambia we voted.
Therefore, my political difference with anyone will never prejudice my treatment of any person because my conscience will not allow this.
There are people who will argue that Ous Darboe put spanner in the works of the coalition but my response to such people is that you do not reciprocate a wrong with another wrong.
On a final note, I will advise my brother President Barrow to stick to his promise of three years and stick with the programme of the coalition. If he renege on this he will make himself a "political irrelevant has been" and a laughing stock of history.
