I have another treat in store for you! Come see the second of 3 FREE videos I've developed to help you benefit from online technologies, understand the rules and get paid for your work.

As you've probably read, so many publications have shown strong evidence in support of the various forms of telemental health. Those studies include:

Godleski, L. Darkins, A. & Peters, J. Outcomes of 98,609 U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs patients enrolled in telemental health services, 2006–2010. Psychiatric Services, 63(4). 383-385.

----> Note the sample size of of 98,609 participants above....

Yet, as of 10/16/2012, if you were to Google "online therapy", "online counselling", and "computerized therapy," you get a total of 943,600 hits. How many of these sites can be trusted? Gaglio (2012) mentions how our patients and clients simply don't care or don't know about the reliability and validity of health information.

Many professionals are looking for direction with telehealth. My short videos are an attempt to do just that - give direction. After 18 years in the field, writing text books and developing the TeleMental Health Institute, where we've documented the evidence base with over 2000 peer-reviewed books and journal articles, and link to over 1000 important resources on the Internet. We specialize in organizing all this information in easy-to-read, mobile compatible e-learning environment that makes it engaging, convenient, and sometimes even fun.

This newest focus on video mini-training is a new venture for me, so please help support my work by spreading the news to potentially interested colleagues.

I've actually had a great time making these videos for you, so now you can sit back, relax, and enjoy some legal/ethical pointers about:

* Skype
* informed consent
* documentation requirements
* assessments
* ethical guidelines
* and more

Once you get on the other side, you'll see the first two segments. Then you'll get notified about the rest.

Regards,

Marlene
