Nice piece.

Few things are clear from your summation.

1.  All parties have to set aside personal interests and instead work
together for the common good of the Gambian people.  Their goal should be to
remove Jammeh. This way, history and the Gambian populace will judge our
Opposition leaders kindly.

2.  Compromises have to be made by parties.  As you stressed, in a
negotiation, someone/something always gives.  And to this effect, some
parties involved will have to make sacrifices to make things work.  But if pt
1 is considered, they should understand that concessions to make a complete
Alliance work are imperative.

3.  Lastly, like many of us have stressed, this is not the time to draw lines
in the sand.  The negotiations need be reconvened.
