I do not think that Gambia has the resources to host such a tourney at this
point.  Rumor has it that GFA league games have at times, attracted less that
50 people.  This to the point where an article was written about the lack of
interest shown towards soccer by Gambians of late.

The logistics for hosting such a tourney include building adequate housing
facilities and mini-stadia in other parts of the country where the tourney
will be held (note; all matches cannot be held at Independence stadium), plus
setting up adequate logistics for the press to transmit these games live.  A
great amount of this money will have to come out of govt. coffers..  Mali got
great exposure and thus good return on investment by hosting the recentlly
concluded ANC, but can the same said for the an under - 17 tourney..

  I love soccer, but my opinion is that we should back-out of this
arrangement.
